A repentant Boko Haram member identified as Abdulkadir Abubakar, who led an attack at Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, Yobe state 4 years ago, in which 58 male students were killed for receiving western education before the Chibok girls went missing, in an interview with sources at a military facility where he is being detained, following his arrest in 2017, disclosed he will be forgiven by Allah over the horrific attacks.
Abubakar who was accused of being a Boko Haram spy and cell leader in Buni Yadi, disclosed that the horrific attacks on schools and students were coordinated and executed through intelligence gathering and strategies mapped out under his supervision.
According to the repentant Boko Haram member who is now seeking forgiveness, Shekau “unilaterally” ordered attacks on schools, mosques, churches and markets, and also ordered abduction and rape.
“Myself and two other Boko Haram commanders, Abu Fatima and Paper, led most of the attacks on schools in Yobe between 2013 and 2014.
“We were also the ones behind the abduction of students at Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok. We also carried out attacks on schools in Potiskum, Mamudo, Damagun, Wagir and Ngarzarma, all in Yobe state,” he recalls.
“I wholeheartedly regret my actions and hope the Almighty Allah will forgive me. Allah said he will forgive whoever repents and asks him for forgiveness. I have repented and sought forgiveness.”
This is coming after 15-year-old Amina Mallam Usman, who narrowly escaped being abducted when Boko Haram members stormed her school, Government Girls Secondary School in Dapchi, Yobe State, in an interview with The Nation, disclosed how she was missed.
According to her, when Boko Haram insurgents came to her school, they thought the men were soldiers, however on close contact they realized they were men from the underworld.
She said she felt like the angels should take her soul the moment she realized the men were Boko Haram terrorists, as she further disclosed she is not psychologically prepared to return to the Dapchi school.
